A Wander With Kelsey Proposal

Alaska Together

May 2027 · A family adventure for the Hueseman, Parsons, Russell & Justice families

One incredible Alaska adventure. Four families. Memories across generations.

13 guests 5 staterooms Roundtrip Seattle 3 sailings to compare
Made for your family

Thirteen people, one coastline, and plenty of room to be yourselves.

Andrea, thank you for telling me what matters most. I built this whole proposal around your two priorities, so every family can see their own pricing and picture the week together.

This is a grown-up, multigenerational trip, and that's what makes it special. Grandparents, parents, and the college-and-twenties crew can each explore Alaska at their own pace during the day, then come back together for dinner, a glacier on the horizon, and a show at night. Nobody has to do everything together for it to feel like a family vacation.

Below you'll find three great sailings out of Seattle. I'll tell you honestly where each one shines.

Two ways to sail

Your Alaska options

All three sailings are seven nights roundtrip from Seattle and visit Juneau, Skagway, and Victoria. The differences are the glacier day, the third Alaska port, the feel of the ship, the calendar, and the price.

About scenic cruising: On glacier days, the ship itself is the viewing platform. You'll take in the scenery from the decks, lounges, or your room rather than going ashore. Weather and ice conditions can change how close a ship can safely get, and wildlife sightings are never guaranteed (though Alaska is generous with them). Royal Princess and Celebrity Edge each include a glacier scenic cruising day; the Quantum of the Seas itinerary does not.
Honest comparison

Which experience feels like your family?

All three ships welcome every generation in this group. Here's how each one lines up with what Andrea told me matters most.

Choose Royal Princess if…

  • Alaska's scenery is the headline, and a full day in Glacier Bay National Park sounds unforgettable.
  • You love the idea of a classic open-air balcony for watching the coastline go by.
  • You want Glacier Bay at a price well below Celebrity Edge, with packages only where they make sense.
  • May 15–22 works best with everyone's school and work calendars.

Choose Celebrity Edge if…

  • An upscale, contemporary atmosphere is a big part of what will make this trip feel special.
  • Great dining, stylish places to relax, and evening entertainment are high on the wish list.
  • A little extra service through Concierge Class appeals to your crew.
  • May 21–28 fits college calendars and work schedules better.

Choose Quantum of the Seas if…

  • Getting the whole family to Alaska for the lowest total cost is the top priority.
  • Long days in Skagway and Juneau, plus a visit to Sitka, sound like the perfect mix.
  • A lively, contemporary ship with lots to do onboard appeals to your crew.
  • May 17–24 lines up best with everyone's calendars.
Glacier dayPrincess spends a full day in Glacier Bay National Park. Edge cruises Endicott Arm to Dawes Glacier, then adds an evening of Inside Passage scenery after Skagway. Quantum doesn't include a glacier scenic cruising day; glaciers can still be seen on shore excursions.
Your outdoor spacePrincess and Quantum are quoted with a traditional balcony. The Edge Concierge Class C4 rooms have an unobstructed view and use an Infinite Veranda: think of a sunroom built into your room, where the top half of the big window lowers to let the fresh air in, rather than a separate open balcony.
The costFor all five rooms, Quantum is , Princess is , and Edge is , before any optional packages. Edge includes $50 onboard credit per room, which is spending money aboard, not a discount.
Sleeping setupOn all three ships, the three- and four-guest rooms have the main sleeping area plus either a sofa bed or a trundle bed. I'll also request rooms near each other where possible.

Whichever you choose, you'll have…

Juneau, Skagway, and Victoria · seven nights roundtrip from Seattle · balcony-style staterooms · days to explore separately and evenings to reconnect.

Explore at your own pace

A few ideas to dream on. Some of you might choose an active adventure while others take a gentler outing, and everyone compares photos over dinner. Excursions are booked separately, and each tour has its own walking, boarding, and activity level.

Moments worth the trip

What this week could feel like

Everyone drifting out to the deck when the first glacier comes into view, and nobody saying much at all.

Grandparents and grandkids side by side on a mountain train, trading stories as the scenery climbs.

Emily and Trenton taking a day just for the two of them, then joining the table for dinner.

The college crew off on an active adventure while others take it slow, then everyone swapping photos over dessert.

These are possibilities, not included activities. Shared moments matter more than keeping all thirteen of you on the same schedule.

Victoria, British Columbia harbor and waterfront
On all three itineraries

Victoria, British Columbia

All three sailings end the week with a stop in Victoria, a charming harbor city with gardens, historic architecture, and a relaxed waterfront that's easy to explore at any pace. Some of you might stroll the Inner Harbour, others might head out for afternoon tea or a garden visit, and everyone can trade stories that evening.

Royal Princess visits on May 21. Quantum of the Seas visits May 23, from 3:00 to 10:00 p.m. Celebrity Edge visits the evening of May 27, from 5:30 to 11:59 p.m. Since this is a stop in Canada, I'll help everyone make sure their travel documents are in order.

Why plan with me

The family planner gets a vacation, too.

“Yes, you could book this yourselves. But you don't have to make one person in the family responsible for every room, deadline, question, and moving piece. That's what I'm here for.”

Thirteen travelers and five rooms is a lot to keep track of. My job is to hold the details, so whoever usually carries the planning can actually look up and enjoy the glaciers.

You bring the family. I'll help organize the details.
